Materials & Protocols
Public documentation for SARAL Phase 2. The study uses a mixed-mode design: a small field arm in Mumbai (May 2026, descriptive only) and a primary online arm via Prolific (June 2026). The Prolific arm is complete: 130 participants completed the study, with 120 participants retained in the primary analysis after the pre-specified timing exclusion.
Design Notes
Conceptual framing and instrument design.
Final TDD covering Prolific deployment, instrument architecture, hosting, data model, exclusion rules, and analysis specifications.
One-page summary: research question, experimental structure, grounding, status. Pre-pivot framing.
Full vignette set with structured fields, control and treatment notes, source attribution per profile.
Participant Materials
Documents shared with participants before and during sessions.
Describes the study, participation rights, and what the online session involves.
Reference document for the in-instrument digital consent participants complete before the session.
Disclosure of the experimental manipulation and post-session information shown to all participants.
Field-arm version describing in-person session structure and participation rights.
Marathi translation of the field-arm participant information sheet.
Field-arm paper consent form signed before in-person sessions.
Marathi translation of the field-arm consent form.
Exact language used at field recruitment, including the introducer's role and the researcher's framing.
Field-arm post-session information shown on screen and available as a printed copy.
Protocol Documents
Operational procedures for each deployment.
Methodology
Pre-registration, post-collection analysis note, power analysis, codebook, and analytical specifications.
Latest analysis-facing document. Records achieved sample, primary analysis dataset, timing-exclusion implementation, robustness checks, preliminary results, demographic summaries, and interpretation after completion of Prolific data collection.
Original timestamped pre-registration prepared before the Mumbai field-arm attempt. Documents the initial field design, hypotheses, outcomes, exclusion criteria, sample-size plan, and stopping rule.
Timestamped before Prolific full-launch data collection. Documents the shift to the online Prolific arm, revised recruitment and screener logic, exclusion rules, help-panel refinement, and interaction analysis plan. Retained as an archived design record, not revised after data collection.
Simulation-based power analysis using mixed-effects models in R. Documents assumptions used for planning the Prolific arm and the revised self-funded recruitment target.
Variable-by-variable definitions for the analysis dataset, derivation logic, timing fields, exclusion indicators, treatment structure, and analyst notes.
Accountability & Governance
Self-governance framework, data handling, and researcher position.
Principles, procedures, and accountability mechanisms documented in lieu of institutional ethics review. Applies to both field and online arms.
Storage, encryption, transfer, retention, and deletion procedures for both field and online arms. Updated for managed hosting platform.
Researcher background, conflicts of interest, funding, and faculty engagement disclosed for transparency.
All materials are openly accessible. The original pre-registration was timestamped before the Mumbai field-arm attempt. The pre-registration amendment was timestamped before Prolific full-launch data collection and is retained as an archived design record. The post-collection analysis note is the latest analysis-facing document and records the achieved sample, exclusions, robustness checks, and preliminary results after data collection.
Findings will be reported regardless of direction, including null and heterogeneous results. For questions about any material, or to request data deletion if you have participated, contact modyparth7@gmail.com.
